I want to plug up the EGR tube on my 85 300D (California Edition).
Where is EGR located? Is it one end of the Y shaped rubber piece which connects the top of the air filter, the air duct that feeds into the turbo and the top of the engine? It is not a valve mechanism, is it? Has anyone done this? Am I on the right track with location of this thing? Pros Cons of doing this Thanks guys, I appreciate your help |

Leave the thing alone. Twice I have tried disconnecting it and the only result was that MPG DROPPED by 4 or 5mpg. They work fine just the way they are, and any supposed benefits to disconnecting it (i.e., less smoke, better mpg) are just speculation. If it isn't causing any problems, why do you want to disconnect it?
