Vacuum Pump Compatibility

I have a 1978 300d NA and the vacuum pump failed. I bought the rebuild kit but I don't have the time to rebuild it. So I ordered a new pierburg pump. I went out to see if it was the same as the one on the car and to my surprise it was not. The new pump only has one out put line but the old one has two lines one going to the air cleaner and one to the brake booster. I know that my 1985 300d has the new pump's set up. I am wondering if the new pump will replace the old one.
