W124 euro headlight lens source?

It seems like it's something new every week ...

I noticed today after parking for the night that the right lens on my Bosch euro headlights got a huge chip in it today. I didn't notice any rocks hitting the car, but who knows what I'd hear that far forward on the car with the radio going and road noise at 70mph. It's a pretty big chip...looks like the type of chip that happens when a window is hit with a BB. Sort of glad the object didn't come up and hit the windshield (it was really close to going over the light and hood). Even though my insurance would cover a windshield replacement, I don't really want to go through the headache of a possible bad windshield and/or seal plus the time to get it replaced.

Anyway, to the point...does anyone know where to get genuine Bosch lenses for W124 euro headlights? I'll probably end up doing both since the ones I have are pretty pitted.

Before you install the new lenses, put some Xpel plastic film on them and save yourself another expensive and time-consuming chore. See http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=239168

Looked around there and didn't see any for the 124. Tried part number and model search, but no dice.

Yeah, I saw those yesterday...the ad kind of looks a little sketchy with 86-93 lenses mentioned and 94-95 lenses pictured. I'd also tend be skeptical of the fit on a set of Bosch lights since they're most likely aftermarket at that price.

I bought a set from Rusty at buymbparts com a while ago, IIRC they were around $70/ea. Might also call the guys at the top of the page ^^ to see if they'll hook you up.

New lids will be a lot less expensive but I really like the looks of the Euro headlights in the W124.

Oh yeah, I do too. I can get the lids for $60 a piece though. Maybe if I have some extra cash I'll get the Euros.

IMHO it's not worth putting one cent into the DOT lights. Save up and get ecodes. The beam pattern is much, much better.

I'm afraid I concur, ... the US/DOT headlamps on the '86-'93 124s are abysmal. The plastic headlamps on my Wife's Ford or the plastic ones on my Daughter's Oldsmobuick are far better at night than my early 124s ever were, ... the worst headlamp I've had since my '85 quattro's US lamps.

Euro are so much better and safer, and look better. Too bad they're so expensive.

When I look up headlights for my 124 there, they just have the lid replacments. What do I look up for the newer design?

I got mine from another forum member so I don't know the original source. Try asking Phil at FastLane, maybe he can get them for you.

I'm thinking of making the transition from DOT to Euro as well for my '87 124. What beside the lenses need to be replaced for the Euro lenses to work right?
