No fuel to injectors--Help!
My '85 300D has been dead in the carport for six months now. Will not start. I loosen the banjo bolt at the IP and get good fuel flow, but no fuel is squirting out of the injector lines. How can I determine if this is a bad IP or just a problem with the fuel shutoff? What makes the fuel shutoff work--vacuum or lack thereof? Thanks for any help!

Pulling they Vacuum Line/Hose off of the Vacuum Shutoff will keep the the Shutoff from cutting the fuel off.
What type of Fuel are you useing? Also the Fuel Injection Pump (not speakig of the Fuel Supply Pump that is on the side of the Fuel Injection Pump) dose not fail like that unless something has happend to what drives it. Loosen the Banjo Bolt to the right of #2 (this is the Fuel returning after it has passed throught the Fuel Injection Pump) and pump with the hand primer to bring Fuel up to that point. After that do not tighten it. Crank the Engine and see if you are getting fuel out of there. If you are not getting fuel out of there when you are cranking the Engine; you have a Fuel Supply Problem not a fuel Injection Pump problem.
