How do you unclip the bowden cable from the top of the valve cover?

Pop off the ball and socket end. pull back on the bellows of the rubber on the opposite end, squeeze the plastic tabs in and push it through the bracket. there is a slit in the bracket for the cable to slop through.

the rubber bellows fit into a groove on the plastic end. gently pull it back.

well you have the black bowden cable coming up from the transmission.

It is attached to the metal bracket by the grey plastic piece. the rubber
bellow should be attached to it.

pull the rubber back to expose the grey plastic piece. squeeze it on the
sides with a pair of pliers. then push it through the bracket. by detaching
the rubber piece, it will expose the steel center cable. lift it up through
the slit in the bracket. Be sure to detach the ball and socket first.

It`s really straight forward and not too complicated. when I removed
mine the first time, I just fiddled with it and figured it out. Didn`t know if
I was going to change the Bowden Cable or not, but removing it didn`t
change the adjustments on the trans.

It`s 6:30pm here and pouring down rain. In the morning I will take a
picture of what Iam talking about. I have mine removed since I installed
the 240 4-spd. I still have the auto trans and the linkage junk from the
valve cover.
