87 300SDL transmission slips off rolling stop

My 300SDL transmission slips off a rolling stop. If I make a solid stop for 1-2 seconds and then take off, no slipping occurs. The other sympton which seems related is when manually downshifting, the transmission won't down shift unless I accelerate. It almost seems as if when decellerating, the transmission is not engaged. Problem started in the last 2000 miles or so.

Otherwise, transmission works fine. No flaring between gears, shifts are smooth etc. Fluid level is correct; 10k miles on fluid, 96k miles on the car. Vacumm to transmission seems fine.

I will change the fluid/filter; are there any other things I can fix/adjust?

Thanks.

When the fluid was changed 10K ago, was the filter changed, too? Was the Torque Convertor drained when the fluid was changed?

If all other shifts/gears work fine, that indicates operating pressure (front pump) is good. No indiation of B2 trouble, as that is DELAYED engagement--but then full/normal lock--at all times in forward gear.

I'm suspicious of something wonky with the bowden cable. It provides signal for coasting/downshifts as well as upshifts.

I suspect low pressure, probably due to internal leaks. The pressure is probably normal as the engine speeds up (and thus the pump also speeds up). Could also be a weak pump.
