V-Klasse 220 CDI
Hi Guys,
Here at last V-Klasse 220 CDI (Common-Rail Diesel Injection) Seats 9 (3 infront + 6 at rear cabin) Fully automatic (4Speed),ABS,ASR,Driver Air-Bag,Dual Sunroof etc etc. Based on VITO Van Chasis with Sliding Doors on both sides + Rear opening hatch door. Shoots-off like a catapult but too bad not turbo charged otherwise it can beat any petrol engine hands down of same engine capacity. When idiling it rattles quite abit but purrs like a kitten when cruising. Best Regards. |

Hi.
I have never heard of a MB CDI engine without a turbo. My E220 CDI certainly have one. It even have Intercooler too |

I'm filing a formal protest. It's not fair discussing vehicles not available in the US, particularly a minivan since I have to drive a Caravan until MB sees fit to sell the V-class here.

What are you complaining about?? You have cars over there which are not sellable in Norway due to taxes and other S%&*t I imported my 1999 E class 220 CDI wagon from Germany, and saved approximately $7000 on it. Even then it ended up at $40000 Drive safely Steinar |

I wish it was just taxes. California supposedly doesn't have the proper forumulation of Diesel for DI so even VW is not offering Diesels for the 2004 model year.
Out of curiosity, what car available in the US would you want in Norway? Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

Any car with a BIG FAT engine . Your 420 for example
In Norway you have to pay taxes both for displacement and hp. So a 220 is around $20000 cheaper than a 320 just because of the engine Sick isn't it?? Drive safely Steinar |

Oh MAN that's really too bad.
I won't say I'm a really experienced MB guy, but I have driven my share of MB's, and diesels in particular, and I can tell you the CDI's are really something different. My 220 CDI is close to the 124 series 300 TDT of the 90's. Even though it "only" have 125 hp. / 300Nm originally it has 150 hp / 350 Nm when chipped. and quite easily outperform regular gas engines around 2.0 litres. When it comes to hauling ie. my campingtrailer which weighs 1900 kg's / 3500Lbs You can really notice the differece between a CDI and a standard diesel. Not to mention the sissy torque of a gasoline engine in comparison. I don't think I will ever have another car without a CDI diesel Steinar |

Does MB still use the good-ol flexdisk on the CDI's?
Is the turbo lag much of an issue? |

Turbo lag shouldn't be much of an issue in any properly running MB diesel.
