They took the W123 part, tweaked it slightly for the W126 but in ways that did not affect the W123 fit/function.
As a standard engineering function, with these results they issued a cancellation order for the less versatile W123 part and superseded it to the W126 part#..

That makes sense, so long as it truly is a "multifunctional" part... The w123 p/n is about $1000 for the set, as I understand it. Are these priced the same, or are the 123 parts higher because they are NOS or some other type of thing?

Thanks!

Sorry, don't mean to be a pain, but is it absolutely definite that those 126 part numbers are rear regulators? Doing a search on the number seems to indicate in a number of places that they are front...

Thanks!

They turn up on eBay now and again. I have bought a pair that way, but I haven't installed them yet.

I think Id rather repair mine, which were from a CA car, then buy unknown used... unless they were the mythical "upgraded" part that was strengthened and is better... which may be what the 126 part is...

Thanks very much, but unfortunately all four of those links indicate front parts... While I need rear regulators. Fortunately my fronts work well...

So what is the actual true rear part number? Or is the front and rear regulator identical???? Seems odd to me that such would be the case on a coupe...

Is this also true for the rear regulators? Can i use a rear W126 regulator on a W123?

As a coupe owner, I find that interior parts are almost impossible to find. To preserve my regulators, I just never put the windows down. If I need these, I would jump on them in a heart beat and hope for the best.
