You should post a summary in the parts thread if the moderators allow it. There are lots of forum member shoppers who don't read Diesel Discussion, nor associate the subject of this thread as a warning of questionable practices of a particular seller.

This forum could stand to have good/bad feedback thread like many other forums. I've had a lot of great dealings with members on this forum as a buyer and a seller that's why I was so quick to mail off this money because I've never had a problem. I'll be more careful in the future.

My point was to let people know paypal can't help you outside of ebay, I didn't know that.

The government is not going to help you, not because they "cannot do anything", but rather they will not. Have you called the sellers Mommy? I am sure you have told your mommy before asking the govt. for help. Maybe they can get it taken care of for you.
Why the venom/sarcasm? The seller cheated the poster and should be forced to refund the money. Simple as that. Too many cheats around. Mark

as a member of this forum, I feel dirty knowing somebody claiming to have quality parts sent misrepresented crap.
that looks like the bumper from a 126, is it?
I have two decent parts cars if that's the case, and I'd like to get a good one shipped out to you. lemme know what you were trying to buy.

I'm looking for just the chrome for a 1981 300SD. The one on the car in question is very rusty.

I appreciate your post John. I'll send you a PM.

Thumbs up Forum Sellers

Paul ;

This blows , I feel badly for you're getting burned .

However , there is NO EXCUSE for you to have not outed this ripoff artist ! none whatsoever .

You are rewarding him by remaining silent .

FWIW , I too buy used parts off this forum and so far I've been well pleased .

I bought some Euro W-123 headlights from one fellow and he was straight up and honest about their less than perfect condition , by the time I got them , he'd decided to polish the glass lenses of all those usual pits so they actually look decent . not perfect but then for $100 , I'm not going to whine .

OTOH , a guy on another forum ripped me off plain & simple , he never sent me anything and stopped responding to my queries as soon as my check cleared his bank so for two years I have made a point of outing him everytime he pulls his usual B.S. of coming in to an ongoing discussion with " oh , I have that part in VGC , I'll sell it to you for XX " just how he snared me

So , as a Forum Member , you have a responsibility here you're ducking .

BTW : I have some Euro W-123 Bumpers and partial mounting brackets I need to off but not here ~ they're all dinged or slightly bent so I'd not want to sell them except for an in person typ of thing and no , don't everyone blow up my InBox , they're not for sale until I've sold my red Coupe .

I think we are all aware of the buyer beware situation, that is not the point. Reputation is everything in many places. I have seen others mention problems they have had on fleabay with certain individuals. I am not suggesting any connection to those previous situations here but naming the other party or at least inviting him to comment on what has been said may go a long way towards solving this.
Has the seller of the item commented or has he gone to ground?

I was hoping the seller would make a fool of himself in this thread, he has not. I was hoping he'd send me an email to try to at least meet me halfway on the money, he has not. I was hoping he'd send me an email to say I'm a jerk and to shove the money, he has not.

The seller is forum member Sev

thanks for being a poor businessman, buy your wife something nice with my $100.

Hey, what a coincidence. I bought headlight wiper motors from him a couple of years ago off ebay. One was obviously damaged and inoperable (should have never been sold in the first place) so I notified him and shipped it back for 1/2 refund since the other one worked. He claimed he never received it, I didn't have proof of delivery so he didn't refund the money. Lost my business over $30 bucks---not very bright. I also learned to return items with proof of delivery. Inexpensive lesson in my case.

Earlier this year I purchased foglights from another fleabayer for $100 and received clearly misrepresented items. I notified the Seller whose response was for me to send them back for a refund of the purchase price but not return shipping. I filed a complaint with ebay and it sat for 3 months but ultimately ebay sent me a return shipment voucher and refunded my Paypal payment so other than the considerable trouble and wasted time I was made whole.

Predictably, the awful economy has brought out the worst in people. These guys evidently figure that the world marketplace is big enough that screwing a few hundred people a year won't negatively impact their business. Mark

so... is silence in this case an admission of guilt? is he just gonna quietly let this 100$ lie? SEV is a pretty vocal responder on most threads, odd that he's not chiming in on this one.
oh, and from reading on the parts section the buyer beware thread... I kinda figured who it was...

I find it interesting he's banned from Benz Obsession. I doubt he'll reply, what can he do, tell me in front of all of you he's not going to pay me back? I already know he's spent the money and I won't see it again

There really is no 'argument' he mailed me crap, its not like there is some sort of defense.

I sold a set of turn signals about 2 months ago for $30 to a forum member. Shipping included. I told him if he did not like them I would refund his money. Last week he contacts me to let me know that the signals had broken tabs. He was on his way overseas and the lenses were to be a present. Knowing that I did not check the tabs and he felt cheated I refunded him the money no questions asked. I felt responsible since I was the seller. He can keep the lights. I want to sleep well at night. Why anyone would knowingly defraud someone else is beyond me. The thought would never cross my mind. Where do these people come from?
