I suspect he is monitoring this thread as a guest.
Your naïveté is charming! Reality is much different!

There is a forum member now in a very privileged position who was involved in a controversy years ago early when he joined. Another forum member found a car and asked if there was a forum member located close by who could take a look at it for him. The now privileged forum member went and looked and bought the car out from under the member who asked for someone to look at it for him! As far as I can tell the now all reference to that original controversy has either “disappeared in a server crash” or has been scrubbed from the forum archives.

That particular vehicle was eventually sold to another forum member a year or so ago, when the vehicle was sold some of the expensive hard to obtain parts that where understood to be part of the deal where missing. There was a prolonged back and forth over the parts with the privileged member promising to ship the parts to the buyer and never did, then after some time declared that the parts had been thrown away and where gone forever. The privileged member eventually told the buyer to screw and get over it because he wasn’t going to get the parts that where originally included in the deal. Not surprisingly there were more than a few forum members who sided with the privileged member and belittled the fair expectations of the screwed buyer into submission. The record of that controversy has disappeared and it is unknown if the dispute was ever fairly and equitably resolved.

So I hope this doesn’t shatter your faith in the forum membership, but this forum has at least its fair share of slimes and their attendant lickspittles as any other community.

I'll send this back up top with a picture of the DIY box since the seller is perusing the forums today.

It should remain open IMO. I am not demanding any action from moderators, I didn't go to admins for money or anything and I haven't said anything that isn't true. Granted with several other people coming forward and saying the same person scammed them, I don't see why his membership hasn't been revoked, but that isn't my call.

FWIW, whenever UPS workers, USPS workers or most airline baggage handlers see the words: "FRAGILE", "HANDLE WITH CARE", "GLASS", "THIS SIDE UP" they usually perform the opposite action that is requested... = "THROW IT", "THROW IT", "IS IT MAKING NOISE YET?", "THIS SIDE? WHICH SIDE?"

Agreed, but you should probably pad the item in the box, and not tape two boxes together because its pretty well known, "fragile" doesn't get you anywhere.

Oh trust me, I wasn't defending his packing skills at all. I agree that this was not the best method. By far.

BTW - You weren't supposed to lay that flat. I think you voided your warranty.

I just made my own box today for shipping something similar. Difference? My part bends

How was it shipped UPS? If it was UPS you get $100 insurance automagically.

Was your bumper padded properly inside the box?

I've sold 2 pairs of Euro bumpers in the past, one shipped within the 48 states and one shipped to Alaska. The first one I shipped to San Francisco and then from there the buyer's uncle shipped it to Alaska. Made it there with no problems, in the original packaging I did. Second one I shipped within the 48 states but I did not skimp on packaging.

Both times I had to flatten two large cargo boxes up then tape them together to conform to the shape of the bumpers (saves on shipping too) and both times the buyer probably had a good time taking out the packing material apart.

I can tell right away that is not the best way to ship bumpers, or even parts of it.

It wasn't padded at all, it was just thrown in the box.

It was shipped USPS, no insurance.

I know this guy , loosely ~ a buddy of mine decided to " get into " Diesel Mercedes and took me by his house to look at some wildly over pimped W-123 , it was ' rare ' and the usual BS , I said not a chance in hell , my buddy bought another bad car from another L.A. area scammer instead .

So far everyone here has treated me extremely well and I am pleased to be here although the high traffic means I can only pop in now & again

Why anyone would knowingly defraud someone else is beyond me. The thought would never cross my mind. Where do these people come from? [/QUOTE]

I suspect they make their own hell on earth with anti social behaviours. Then they seem to want to share their misery. Never taking or having a good conciencious perspective. A real person goes with the flow and changes or overcomes adversery to a great extent.

Some on the otherhand are just born losers in my opinion. This individual should try a little self character building and return the 100.00. It was never reasonably his so I see it as plain and simple theft.

What really also bothers me is most of the misfits think they are smart. Actually they tend to be the most stupid people around in reality. Life usually penalizes them in some way or another as a result. A smarter well balanced person realises this. Rotten behaviour and lack of character are not a freebee. Nor a condition to cultivate.

At onetime I used to wonder why some older people were so abjectly miserable. I expect a certain awareness developed with age. They could not undo their earlier deeds as they got older. So the mind makes the adjustment for them. In a way to me those really miserable older people are generally self advertising what kind of person they were through the majority of their life.

Certain areas of the brain do not forget ever if imprinted well enough. In a way it is just poetic justice. This individual should examine himself carefully. The future penalty levied is one he should not want to experience.

Sure I eventually got old. I am only too happy not to have a monkey like that on my back. I more or less have had to treat people as I would expect to be treated. My makeup or character allows nothing less. Certainly I have made some errors. Never by direct intent and mostly errors of ommission. I feel far from perfect.

Lol, that link on the buyer beware thread about Sev's shenanigans over on the 190rev forum are absolutely hilarious if you read through that whole linked thread.

Barry, you are assuming that all people are essentially good, and knowingly err on the side of evil, which will haunt them as they get older?

lol, I know plenty of people who have no integrity, honor, or conscious. The ends justify the means for them, and I would be surprised if they cared in the least if they screwed a couple hundred people over the years.

I suspect that most irritable old people are crotchety mostly because they are old and are dealing with the ravages of the passage of time, and no other reason. I know personally that when my knees and hands give out, im going to be a SOB in my wheel chair just because I can get away with it! At that point, I probably won't even remember slapping little jimmy over our juice boxes in the 6th grade.

That thread is sad. I recently got into it with him and then he asks me about my "Zender Schnitzel" (spoiler I had for sale) and then links back to the thread I was discussing the pros and cons on SLS with him and says hes not going to buy it. This was all before I even had a chance to tell him it was already sold!

I ended up owning him in PM though. heh.

Ah arguing on the internets.
