just got my first 240d's! trying to learn vacuum system...

Hi all!
I just got my hands on an 81 240D and started read this forum to learn all about it! got pretty excited bout it, and ended up seeing another '77 240D for next to nothing, so now i have 2 these are my first diesels, and i knew nothing about them before 2 weeks ago-- now, after many late nights of reading this forum.. i feel i have at least a pretty good overview on these beasts!! thank you everyone for this great resource. I am excited to learn about these cars, and see myself having a long relationship with 240Ds! (after owning a 95 camry and 92 volvo, i almost gave up on being able to do any work on them myself.... the W123 seems sooo elegant in design compared to any other car i've owned.)

The 81 slips a little when shifting, and i've been reading a lot that the vacuum system is the first thing to check with transmission related issues.. so i'm gonna dive into finding vacuum leaks

i am going to order a mityvac to further diagnose-- are there different models, or are all Mityvacs the same?

I've been trying to trace vacuum diagrams i see posted around here, but i'm a little confused on what all the parts on the diagrams actually look like on the car...?
could you guys help me identify the parts in my photos..??
