Car: '82 240D r-12 system

I've finally got a new compressor on my hands. I've gotten several replacement parts to throw at the system as well. R/D O-ring set, switches, couple hoses, shrader valves...

I do plan to FLUSH the system. I had to get that out of the way so some would read the rest of the post.

The compressor installation instructions mention that there is a proprietary "assembly lube" as they say, called ICE 32 in the new compressor. The instructions say not to drain the oil but to leave it in and put in the car's recommended oil amount. They don't say anywhere how much of this ICE 32 stuff is in the new compressor.

I've heard of many of the experienced forum members suggesting to drain it and replace with the proper amount of oil you plan to use to oil the system. Personally, I've got a quart of AC Delco 525 Mineral oil, and plan to use that. Also have several charge cans with 2 oz of 525 mineral oil in each.

What are the thoughts of the experienced ones? Drain the oil and put in known amount of oil or follow directions?
