Talking Infractions ~ Grumpy Old Diesel Owners Club

For some time now I have seen increasing numbers of members, particularly the mature members, gaining infractions. I got 1 or 2 & a couple of warnings earlier this year & there are many members following this trend.

What I am suggesting is a "Grumpy Old Diesel Owners Club". A bit like the cheap wagon club.
The requirements would be:

1/ Over 50years old.

2/ Have had at least 1 infraction at some time in the past.

3/Own a diesel Mercedes.

I guess we could allow associate membership for those under 50 or if they have only had warnings.

I hope that Larry Bible & Skid Row Joe would join me in being founding members. There are several others over on OD who may qualify. Sorry if I have not mentioned any other potential members.

The thoughts of other members would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Grumpy has nothing to do with owning a Mercedes Diesel. There was a series on the TV back a while ago called "Grumpy Old Men". I think it may typify the feelings of some members; not taking BS, no time for electronic gizmos, intolerance. Basically all those things that come with maturity.

I bet you lied about your age when you were younger & wanted to buy liquor. You are welcome to do the same now!!

Hey now- I've already been branded as "Crotchety" by Jimmy L. Quit trying to horn in on my back yard or I'll send Lefty and Rocco over to inspect your thumbs.

He's my hero!!

Long live the genius of Chad!!!!

I got all offended with my first infraction, but who really cares now......
My only fun was baiting an annoying member until they finally got themselves 90 days of timeout. They just couldn't lay off that high fastball!
There are days I like this poster, and days he shows his arse. Bipolar or a late night drinker I guess.
I'm inching right up against the big 50 but being on the lower side of that has little to do with my annoyance factor.
Frickin' young guys.......

That person and I have actually gotten kind of chummy. Whodathunk?

I miss you Jimmy.

I've gotten 2 warnings for indirect barbs as I was skirting the rules. For a youngin' I guess I'm downright restrained.

When did you get banned The_Don? It must have been before my time.

Crap, I lost another diesel, so I really don't qualify now. Anyone have a '95 E300 or 240 4-speed they want to sell?

Tyler,

I have one of each, which one do you want?

Oh, and I don't really know how to keep this post relevant to this thread - I guess I will just say, let me know if you are interested, otherwise, piss off!!!

HEY --- we need to talk!!! I have a solution in mind --- how about a 240 automatic that you can shift manual?

Regarding the club.....well, I'm over 50 (surprise to some, I know), but never had an infraction. Interesting, huh?

I've got 1 infraction that I think was unjustified. All I did was inquire why a member was being so insistent on espousing a narrow minded opinion. I surmised that he was not learned or perhaps incapable of assimilating new information.

Well, I'm nearly 50 and have had a spot of bother in the past....

Once caused by 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' --Shoved Inlet or summit his name was, Complained to mods and I got infraction for His aragance....

And another by misjudgement on my part. Seems a post Started by a member, That member has full responsibility for it,-no matter how it goes--News to me at the time....

Err, BTW--Whats 'OD'
