I bought 2 each GoodYear Viva2 Tires (195 70R 14) at Walmart for $64 each (price reduced from $69).
While they are sort of cheapie Tires I was shocked to find they were made in the USA.

Yes. I believe we still manufacture tires here. Though as I recall, some of the Michelins I got at Sam's Club for my 240D and 300TD were actually made in Germany.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Just bought some Lemfoerder motor mounts for my 240D. They appear to be identical to the Mercedes supplied mounts with the star rubbed off. For info and photos, see http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/316155-240d-lemfoerder-motor-mounts.html#post2920662

Here is a Febi swap bar link for a VW
Made in Germany according to the package.
Look at the stud.. stretched and broke with little effort.
Inside of the stub is black powder substance.
Made (stud at least)in China for sure.

I needed an over-run clutch (the part that includes the drive cog) for a German Bosch starter.
I got a Zen, made in Brazil.
Was less than 1/2 the price of a Bosch.
Years ago I needed the same part for my old 123, The one I got was an Eclin (not sure of spelling), made in Asia. They were soon after bought out by Bosch.

Replaced the sway bar links on my W126. Went with Lemforder units.
They're made in the Czech Republic.

Pics:

Also picked up some front sway bar bushings for when I replace the upper control arms on the 420SEL. They're Febi units, made in Germany.

Just got some Lemförder rear sway bar links for my 123 - made in the Czech Republic. No Mercedes star or part numbers shown on the mounts themselves, just a cross reference number on the box showing the Mercedes part number - identical numbers to JamesDean's photos above.
