Burped the Baby!

My new (to me) 75 w115 300D. Radiator was rodded out etc., detailed heater valve, new hoses, and Xerex G-5, did a very thorough citric flush/backflush many times on this one and after a lengthy burping process I learned a few things . . . . the first time, I did remove upper radiator hose to fill and thought all was well or so I thought! I had to do this twice and in spite of car being on ramps, I still had to raise the front end another 8 inches -this will be much easier next time, she is running at 180! Go me! So far, I am very happy with how well this car is responding to maintenance and cleaning -much more metal in this car than my 123 and 126 cars, a little more German old school, love it! A/C on r-12 still making ice cubes!

Oh yes, nice area Yountville. I recall trips to the Geysers when they were open to the pubic before the PG&E started goethermal.
To me the classic 115 chassis would be right at home up in the country, winding around the back roads and with a working AC, that's a necessity up there in the summer.
I had a '75 300D that was donated to the non-profit after donating its nice wood dash swapped with the old cracked one on my '71 220 which is still running like a top with 4-speed stick but, I'm sad to say no working AC. It needs the system recharged I think but its not hot enough on the peninsula to justify fixing it especially when I have 4 other Benzs that need AC work besides that the big York compressor will drag the idling speed down on a little 4 banger so I just don't use it.
