1995 E300D A/C woes, Part II
I went to the Men's Mall over the weekend, picked up the small elect circulation motor that burned out last year. I also picked up two Duo valves, an interesting piece of gear. There is a small cone shaped plunger that modifies that amount of hot water going to the heater. One valve had the cone as a cone, the other valve had the cone attached to a shaft that fits inside the plunger. Looking closer at the first one the shaft had broken off inside the plunger (just like the one I reinstalled in my car). Seems the plastic shaft has to be intact in order to cut the hot water supply to the heater.
I plan on soldering a brass shaft on my valve as well as the other one that broke. Hopefully that will bring the A/C back and I'll have two spares ready to go.

Zulfiqar,
I did not pull that pump or valve from a 1995 E300d. Both came off a 1993 Wagon with 4 wheel drive. There are several Benz there, all early 90's. If you can pull the part number or tell me what car you need it from I'll look over the weekend. Those boxes were on all the cars I checked. Parts are 50% off 5/6 Aug11. There is no way to check if the box works while in the mall. Len
