Red Line water wetter
Does anyone know what is in Red Line Water Wetter? Does anyone have a bottle with a U.S. patent number on it? You might say I'm bit of a chemical freak.
thanks, burnan

I'll check
I have some at home. I'll check and answer you tomorrow.
I tried it 'just for fun', it seems to work in the range of 5-10 DEG F reduction. JCD |

These is no patent info on the bottle. Maybe you can find it on their page. Link: http://www.redlineoil.com/frames/watrwet.htm

I don't know what the chemical content is but I was told it lowers the surface tension of the coolant so it makes it harder for small bubbles to form in the cooling water jackets so you get better heat transfer.

Thanks all. I like the idea of shedding 5-10F off the water temps.

I agree that water wetter will lower your temp by 5-10 DEG. Have no idea what it is made of but I do know it works. The 300D runs much cooler now with Mercedes Gold and water wetter in the coolong system. I will use a bottle in my wifes 190E when I change fluid this weekend.

Beware: hand soap does the same thing. Would you want that in your car?

There's a special "Water Wetter" for diesel engines. Check it out.
