Army, that is no challenge.... clearly the standard tool used to adjust drum brake star adjusters placed under the crimps will ease them open ...
Next problem ?

Does that mean the PNP price is going up too? they charge a certain % price of a new part.

Those new MB prices For a blower motor is nuts. I can put in a lot of $29 used blower motors, and if I replaced one a year, Iam still ahead of the game

I replaced the one in the 240D when the lady gave it to us. blower was kaput, so stuck in a used one and 1.8 yrs later, she is blowing good.

replaced the screetching one in the Datsun today, lower screw was rusted in a bit, so had to cut off the head with a Dremel, then the stud came right out. new/used blower is a definate improvement.

potential Replacement motor

Folks, I went looking for a replacement blower motor for my 1985. The one I pulled from the PNP had the brushes more worn out then the one in the car. Using it as as example, I found that Volvo used the same sized motor in the mid 90's. I think it was the 1993 - 1997 850. Through my friendly Import auto parts dealer, He knew of a bosch blower motor he had ordered that didn't fit the customers application, but was stuck with it. He knew the customer wanted to sell it, and was able to get it to show to me. We compared all the dimensions, and they matched. Electrical connection barbs are in the same place. I bought it. Under $100.00

Bosch part number 0 130 111 134

And it was not made in China. Brazil.

A good Bosch wishbook website:

Bosch Motors and Controls provide DC Electric Motors, Cooling Fans, Water Pumps

If it was under $100, then it's the only Volvo 850 part that is.... LOL. You mean it lists for that, or that's the knockdown price you got for scooping otherwise useless stock?

Seriously, however, thanks for the valuable info. Now can someone find a cheaper radiator for a w123?

Nice find Hammer! Maybe we need to create an "interchange manual" for the DIY section with things like this and the Saab alternator.

BTW a quick google of the part number puts it solidly under $100.
