Gotcha- Off topic, but did they really make a convertible Chevy Cavalier? Must have been hideous looking!

That would be great if the orignal poster followed up with an after action report

Yes, and yes.

It had these awkward little protrusions for the shoulder belts, where the B pillars would go. I think VW's solution of just making a complete "basket handle" hoop out of the B pillars was better looking, frankly.

Why couldn't you run a pressure sensor in the feed line to run the pump automatically when needed with the key on?

I would want an indicator light like the GPs have to let you know when its on, since, like the GPs, the pump would draw allot of amps.

Probably a near tie with the K-car-era Chrysler Lebaron woody convertibles (think "Planes, Trains, Automobiles" with John Candy and Steve Martin).

The Gen 1 Cavalier was GM at its worst in every way. As I recall even the sedans felt like they had no body rigidity and the suspension was incredibly crude. And who can forget the awful noises that "Iron Duke" 4-cylinder made? (I worked for a rental company in the day and we had a few.)

How you chop the roof off a chassis that was already a structural dog is beyond me. Must have needed a pile of additional bracing.

bumpity bump....
So, what about the tandem pump?
Does anybody have any clue if I can get a tandem pump off some other type (126?)to fit the head on an OM616 (240td).
Reason? There's so much positive pressure (blow-by) that it keeps forcing engine oil through the seal round the cam-driven sls pump and into the sls system itself, which is not good....
Waddya say?

Come on guys. Any new ideas

I just picked up an 80 sedan engine today and need an engine for my 80 wagon and do not want to swap heads or delete the sls. Anyone have a 124 Sls power steering combo pump to sell?

What are the details? I also need a driver taillight, side trim and other trim bits. This is for the wagon that was involved in a fire at a friends shop. Finally pulled the oil and the number one cylinder rod is toast, crankshaft is scored and the cylinder wall is scored as well.

Call me....I'll pm you my number
