Injector rebuild

Any shops in the bay area that can pop test injectors? I am pulling to do the nozzles and need some one to test the same day. Best I found was a shop in Sac that told 4-5 day turn around.

Diamond Diesel

I'm in Sacramento and just used Diamond Diesel.
They pop test for free. They have a shop in Oakland, too.

I was happy with their service. I took them a dozen from PNP to test.
Six were good. I threw the guy 20.00 for his time since they didn't charge me
and I wasn't going to have them rebuild the bad ones.

I'm in process of my own injector rebuild

Should I be concerned with small amounts of crud falling in when I pulled the injectors out??

The introduction of particulate matter into a mechanism with close-tolerance moving parts is seldom a good thing.

Let me tell you what happens in real world.

1) It is inevitable that 'something' will fall into the pre-chamber when you pull the injectors. When you give it to a shop then they would care less and just pull the injector. When I do it myself then I will clean the injector base and use compress air to blow any debris away to minimize the risk.

2) Any minute crud or debris that falls into the pre-chamber probably will be burn off over time. So there is really nothing to worry about unless you drop a small screw driver or nut/bolt in there.

3) I would plug the holes with a rag once the injectors are out.

Have fun.

Sounds good. Thanks. I did take care to clean around the base of the injector with a brush and air before I pulled it but I did see a very small amount of crud fall in as I was pulling the heat shield out.
