am I a record holder? 3 that's THREE 87 300TD's...

um, yup. today I completed the trade of my 83TD for my THIRD 87 TD...

and yes, I mean WAGON!

this one is rough, it's got some bubbling going on, and it's missing a few parts, and the door locks don't work, nor do all the windows... the rear hatch won't stay up reliably, and it's got an average repaint that covered the door handles, and the license plate lights... reasonable mileage, 230ish, it runs on the hot side, but it's missing the radiator shroud, and I think the fan clutch is out. nice tires and wheels, light tint on the side windows, the a/c has a switch cobbled into the center console, and the sunroof doesn't respond properly, it won't park closed, or open correctly. oh, and the interior lights don't come on with the doors... and it's been T-boned on the driver's side... pretty hard hit, there is a thread on it somewhere in here.

the positive is... it's got the #22 head!
the motor runs very well, and the transmission shifts nicely.
oh, and some FINE tan leather seats!

sounds like a good addition to a nice collection. There is a white 87 300TD in my town with 300K but the owner says it runs like a top and it doesnt look too bad either. I might check it out. They are only asking around $1500 and I dont think they are firm on the price.

Mine has 311,000 on it. Ran like a top. hopefully i'll have an injection pump soon

COOL! see if you can get it below 1000 and get into the CWC!!! warn them that the Timing chain and vacuum pump along with the fan clutch, and belt tensioner/spring will likely be needed for a reliable driver, and that's about 1200.000 in parts alone...

I've got a 95TE as well, also an 85TD mostly disassembled... the 80 wagon is gone, but most of it's parts are in my garage... the other two 123 wagons I had have moved on to other drivers... strangely, I did not sell them, I traded them both for different cars.

so... as of yet, I've not sold a single car to anybody.
