Brake line rubbing? w123
My rubber front brake lines look chewed up. Are there clips or something to keep them from rubbing against things, or were they just put on wrong? I'll take some pics when I replace them later this week. Just don't want the same happening to the new ones too .

Sometimes when people replace calipers and use the old hose, they don't tighten to the same relative spot, causing the hose to occupy a different position, possibly rubbing against a component. Replace the hose, and check for interference.

You should see a retaining clip when you swap 'em out.

And this would be why. I couldn't find a part number on the old hose but I assume someone mistakenly used the earlier style brake line which is slightly longer. The replacements stayed far away when the wheels were turned.
