Manual climate control parts source

Just wondering if there is a online source for manual climate control parts. I found a new fan switch on ebay. But no where can I find the trim 'cups' or the fan knob. I am really hoping to get a working fan in my car so I can run the heater in the morning, I know that sounds crazy at the end of june but it was 38 here yesterday morning. I would also like to see if my ac works when I find a compressor and bracket to replace the one my car didn't come with...Michael

I'm pretty sure that I have this stuff on a Euro parts car of mine. It's been so long since I've walked out there and looked at it I don't know for sure how it's arranged.

The trim cups are placed behind the three knobs on the manual climate control and hide the backing plate and the nuts that hold the switches in place. Thanks,
Michael

Pull out the automatic ccu and figure out how to hardwire the fan. I'd settle for just a jury-rigged switch.

The entire manual setup is difficult to get if you don't luck across a euro car. Assuming this is a 123 then you could luck into extracting it from a 240d.

It's alot more than just the faceplates and knobs, the knobs connect to cables that control the air flaps and the heater valve, whereas the automatic system has vacuum/electronic air flaps and an electronic heater valve. Lots of stuff behind the dash to collect to do this.

Course hooking up the stock manual fan switch would probably be easy.

I have a nos fan switch just need the trim cups and a fan knob. It all works fine I would however like it to look like it should. The car is a 1982 240d w123. Thanks for the reply.

Hmm, my 240d came with manual controls to begin with. I suspect most 240ds came with it.

I did find a manual control from a 79' 240d on the net but I have no way of verifying whether the parts will fit a control from 1982. Mine has a double slide and the 79 has a single slide. The part is in ny and I am in MT. The tough part about fixing 'fern' cars here is finding parts in the big EM TEE...when I was working in Palo alto the pick and pulls were seemingly everywhere, here I ask for parts for a Mercedes at the junk yard and they look at me like I have a third arm. The views here are outstanding but my local MBZ dealer is 200miles away lol..

For some reason I thought you had automatic climate control. What was your original problem?

I recently purchased an 82' 240d with a manual cc unit. The trim cups and the backing plate ,to which the three switches are attached, are cracked into pieces, the metal 'ears' on the fan switch are broken off and the fan knob is missing. I can fix the backing plate easy enough but the cups are destroyed. I did manage to find a new oem fan switch on ebay but I cant find the fan knob. Ideally I would like to find a complete manual climate control from a late w123. Thanks for the reply.

I`ll see what I can find in our PNP`s. I think the closest 82 or 83 is a ways from me, but one will show up around here. I think the cups are the same, but the sliders were changes some.

Our 80 240 has one slider, and I know 82 & 83 have 2.

Just checked the inventory for 200 miles. an 82 in Windsor and a 83 in Stockton.

Like I said in CA they seem to be everywhere, I have tried all three yards in my area and found only one severely damaged c series. Now, If you are the type of gentleman who frequents establishments such as those you mentioned please pm me.
