Welcome to the fleet 1976 W115.114 "300D" dark Green

It currently has 99k miles.
The car sat for seventeen months before I bought it.

A few issues:

* Windshield seals bad, PO re-sealed with silicon.
* Trunk seal poor condition.
* Vacuum locks disconnected due to leaks.
* Fails to shutdown 2 of 3 times.
* Temperature gauge flutters, assume bad ground or wire short.
* Fuel gauge drops to empty at random moments.
* Engine mounts bad.
* Transmission mount bad.
* Transmission cooler hoses bad.
* Interior IMO is a 2 or 3, horse hair is gone, leather is beyond salvage per my upholstery man.
* Transmission dip stick tube to pan banjo bolt has a very slow drip, 3 - 5 drops per day.
* The alternator adjustment bolt star teeth are stripped off.
* The NEW alternator - water pump belt is loose.
* Windshield squirter not working.

NEW:
* Tires.
* Starter.
* Alternator.
* Glow plugs.
* Fuel filters.

Previous work done for the PO:
* Welded in new floor pans.
* Replaced the transmission with a good used 28K mile unit.
* Tie rod assemblies.
* Brakes.
* Brake hoses.
* Rotors.
* Flex disc's.
* Calipers rebuilt two years ago.

When did MB switch from mechanical coolant temp gauges to electrical? I remember my dad's 109 temp gauge remaining active with the key out.

And I'm guessing the trash wasn't conveniently in the bag when you bought the car!

Nice Hunter, love my '75 300d - updated to manual glow. Good luck with engine mounts, not sure why they are different from other OM617 but they are -go figure -

No.
There was a new bottle of Lucas diesel treatment ripped open (spilled) under the passenger front seat.

I will not try to describe the trunk, half of the trash was empty oil bottles without lids.

I will be cleaning for weeks.

Engine mount
MB# 1152410813
$114.00 each

I will find a way to either make the later OM617 mounts work, or fabricate a totally new solution.
