Talking He responded, the price is for real!

Here is his response, what I wrote is just below it. I might have :exagerated" on the 2-3K price, but who cares when you're asking 18!

He responds:

you're welcome

I think the seller of that 300D on eBay is lying. He says the car has a LEATHER interior. The interior appears to be MB Tex, which is VINYL. These liars who use eBay to attempt to defraud people should be prosecuted. I wonder what else he is BS'ing about?

I too got a response from HER (Michelle), yeh, that's right. I had politely asked if $18,000 might be a misprint. She said, "not a misprint." I wonder what color hair she has. LOL

Hair Colour? She doesn't seem to be able to tell the Truth. She says her car has a Leather Interior. It Does Not have a leather interior. It has a vinyl MB Tex interior! She is attempting to defraud someone. 123's came with two interior options: Cloth or MB Tex. Leather was Not an option in the 123.
Imagine driving 200 miles to see this "Excellent" 123, which you were told has a Leather interior, only to find that she lied; it has a vinyl MB Tex interior. What else is she BSing about?
How can eBay allow this type of deception?
This woman is on crack!

I will defer to your knowledge, TX Bill - but look at the pictures of this car's interior. That sure looks like MB Tex. I have seen leather in the newer 300E, and it looks completely different. You can tell that it is real leather. Not so with this 300D for $18K.

Bart sells parts?

Hey Greg, do you mean bart will actually sell parts off all those decaying cars?LOL I have purchased several items from him, axle shafts, blower motor, etc.,but I tried to buy some little trim things and he said no way. Are those the part cars you have talked about in the past?

'Looks just like my 81 300D! Because mine has 147 kmi and no turbo, though, one could possibly talk me into selling it for half the price of the one on e-bay.

Kyle; The fellow who first got me interested in MBz diesels - a helicopter mechanic who lives out near Stave lake, - said that he bought a used IP from Bart. I have not bought anything from him except my new Bilsteins and I have bought oil filters there, only because he is close to where I live. I have found that the best boneyards for old MBz's are on Mitchell Island, in Richmond.
I minimize my dealings with Bart, because he is such a surly old fart, and does not treat me like a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars there. When I walk in, he looks at me like I am some smelly schlog of sea foam that washed up onto the beach, and spontaneously came to life. Now Edelwiss Motors on 128th, in Surrey...They have the type of business that I like to do business with. They charge a fair rate, and dont screw you over by replacing things that can be repaired. They have helped me out with free little services like winding my sunroof shut when it stuck open, it stated to rain, & I did not have the little wrench needed to shut the roof from the trunk. They found me a used sunroof motor and used power antenna. When I asked Bart about that stuff, he looked at me like I had just farted.
I cant figure Bart out. He has got all those decomposing old MBz and Peugeots and he jealously hordes them like they were the last cans of soup on the Planet Earth. I tried to set up an appointment for a valve adjustment and a measurement of timing chain stretch- it was not fun. I went to Edelweiss, where they fell over themselves trying to make me happy. (My sister recommended them; she gets her 320i & Jetta serviced there) They even vacuumed my interior and gave me an air freshner (simple things amuse simple minds)
I have to figure out what sort of underworld activity that Bart is up to, and using his shop as a front for?

I'm up on the hill at the top of Panorama Ridge, on King George Hwy., between the Mohawk & the Shell Stn., by the Mosque. We are the house across from the mosque with the big "Where is Osama?" sign in the window.

I think ebay is home to some fraud but I also think that people are just ignorant. Unless you are knowledgable on MB's, you will not know what MB Tex is. I'm sure that there are used car salespeople out there who think that MB would never put vinyl/ leatherette in a car so they think it must be leather.
People are trying to make a buck without really having a knowledge base about what they are selling, which can be very dangerous for the buyer!
It looks good that I'll clinch the deal on my w123 wagon which was special ordered with buff leather interior- I too was skeptical that it was real leather but thankfully the woman knew MB's and knew the difference (plus she has the original window sticker! :-)
