Rear axle compatibility between 84 300SD and 85 300TD

I'm curious if anyone knows if the rear axles on my 84 300SD (126 sedan) might fit on my 85 300TD (123 wagon)? I have a perfectly decent parts car that might have the axle and boots in decent shape, I dunno. I would hate to take two cars apart only to see that one is an inch longer or something.

I am thinking that the rear differentials are the same, as are the rear arms. But I get the impression that the bodies are different widths and thus the wheels may be further apart.
