I did use a Motive bleeder and had my wife pump the pedal too. I didn't do it with the engine running though. Block of wood? To keep MC from going in too far maybe into rough sections of the MC?

Yes. I use a scrap of 2x4 to limit travel and my wife helps me.

Yes. Using the old pump method while the car is running has been the difference between a softer pedal that needs more pressure to stop and a harder, VERY responsive pedal.
