Should Windows 7 Home Premium come with Java installed? I did a seach for "Java" and nothing was found.

I went to Java's site Java Downloads for All Operating Systems Version 6 Update 38 and saw the following:

"We have detected you may be viewing this page in a 32-bit browser. If you use 32-bit and 64-bit browsers interchangeably, you will need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit Java in order to have the Java plug-in for both browsers."

How do Ii check if my browser is 32 or 64 bit?

I've been running the EPC in Windows 7 Pro, XP mode, without problems (after I got the correct Java installed). The EPC directions are outdated when talking about the Java install. I thought the EPC was not compatible with Windows 7 standard mode, at least three years ago or so when I bought my computer. Can't find anything on their site saying it is or isn't. Is it now compatible with all Windows 7 versions?

I installed Java and activated it in Firefox and verified within Firefox that it is installed correctly. I subscribed to EPC and in step 2 of 3 got the following message. I tried it a few times with the same results. Anyone know what I did wrong?
