Thumbs up VERY Helpful !

As the factory books in my '84 graymarket 300TD were stolen by a crooked mechanic .

My 1982 240D came with a steel 17 gallon tank, I pulled the 21 gallon tank out of a junker in a So. Cal. Mercedes junkyard and bolted it right in, depending on the fuel economy I can drive more than 500 miles on one fillup and love it .

I think I need to remove and clean the in tank fuel screen on my 300TD as I was slapping it through the twisties 7.4 and noticed it sucked air and began to miss a few times then only required 13 gallons to be full up .

If anybody with a 240D like Nate wants to up their car to the 21 gal tank of a 1982-85 300D, I have one for sale on craigslist for only $25 (keep reducing it, but no takers). Looks like new, no rust I can see inside, comes w/ filler tube, screened drain, and level sensor. I pulled the screen when I drained it and it had nothing on the screen. No, not shipping it, but anybody crossing California N-S on I-5 or E-W from SF to Tahoe can stop in Sacramento for it. Other stuff from a 1983 300D on cl, plus thinning my herd of excess spare parts. Listed here on P-P too.

Thumbs up 240D Tank Upgrade & TD Strainers

Anyone who has a 240D needs to jump on this ! $25 for a tank with sender is fantastic price .

I'd buy the sender alone but it's too far away .

? Might anyone have images of the wagon's tank, sender and in tank screen ? .

I guess I'll have to remove and clean the screen next and I'd like to eyeball the job before jacking it up and so on....

Links to same will suffice .

TIA,
