I opened this thread to discussion about Diesel being like 1.20 a gallon. Then I saw it was good old 2002. God the 90's were a hppy time. 97 cent a gallon gas, I had a nice jeep 4x4 the markets were looking good, the future seemed very bright. These days I try to avoid the news it's all so depressing!

$3.75/gal in NW Indiana and generally $4.59- $4.79 in Chicago. It's really getting weird in Chicago- dinosaur diesel is $3.89 in one part of town, and $4.99 just a 20 minute drive away.

Diesel is $4.17 at most station. Cheapest I've found is $3.90 near I-95 South exit coming back from Philly at a HESS station.

Was that the price on the sign, or your final cost after using a discount card? That is an extraordinary price for California right now if it was the advertised price.

Extraordinary? I don't think so. I filled up on 1/25 at a chevron where the advertised price was $3.79 - 20 cent discount. I just type "8675309" when it asks for a phone number. I don't even shop at those stores.

Here's the advertised diesel prices on gasbuddy right now.

For me it is helpful here to communicate the price on the sign, rather than the final price after whatever personal discounts I may qualify for. You said diesel is $3.60. As your maps indicate, $3.60 is extraordinary. Thanks for clarifying that the price you provided requires a special discount card.

Premo gas $3.39, deezl $3.89 here.

Few months ago diesel was less expensive than gasoline. That was the exception, not the rule.

I don't have any special discount card. I pick phone numbers out of thin air.The price I pay is quite normal.
