Vacuum Control Valve leak - repair or replace? 87 300sdl
Hiya. My 87 300SDL has a mild fuel leak somewhere on, seemingly, the back of the vacuum control valve. I'm planning to remove the unit and see what I can see, my question: have others here had success tinkering in this area without buying a replacement part? I'd love to hear that there's a seal that goes that can be replaced.

Pictures will help. There's no fuel near the VCV so it's likely coming from leaky delivery valves (where the injector lines connect to the IP) or an injector line above the VCV.
The VCV is calibrated so either note exactly its clocking or understand how it's adjusted. IIRC you push the pedal to the floor then twist the VCV clockwise until you feel tension in the internal spring. The bolts don't take much torque into the IP's soft aluminum housing. Sixto 87 300D |
