Actually if you look closely during Fringe episodes, old Mercedes often show up in the background in the first or second season, don't remember which exactly. IIRC quite a few were in the background on early episides of The Walking Dead.

I heard that this occurs because so many film and video crew drive them. It's natural crew cars end up used as background props. Not sure if that is true.

A nice w123 wagon in what looks to be teal is currently starring in a national TV commercial here in Canada. I mention it because the theme of the ad is to look for happiness in life, and the wagon is portrayed as owned by a couple that has... sort of neat.

During the first or second season of Fringe, there's an episode where an assassin hired by the Observers drives around in a 126 chassis 300SD.
