It's been a hot summer, very hot. Thinking again about getting those recirc pods replaced. Any recent pricing changes on them?
Oh well, guess I'll check myself on OKPerformance and "*****.com" (save the forum admin some work with the *'s).

Vacuum pod price update 06/01/2010. Seems like 124-800-01-75 Footwell pod is no longer available, two are needed for 1986 and early 1987 W124. Fortunately these pods can be replaced without pulling the dash, so in the mean time one could at least replace all the others.
Prices shown: AZ / (KOPerf) / [Peachparts/Fastlane]. 124-800-00-75 Defroster pod - $60.71 / ($63.85) / [$85.65] 124-800-02-75 Center vent pod - $18.34 / ($18.31) / [$26.70] 124-800-03-75 Diverter pod - $47.48 / ($46.46) / [$51.48] 124-800-04-75 Recirculation / fresh air pod #1 - $46.41 / ($49.10) / [$64.61] 124-800-11-75 Recirculation / fresh air pod #2 - $45.19 / ($43.60) / [$58.80] 124-800-01-75 Footwell pod (1986/87 two req) - N/A / (N/A) / [N/A] 124-800-09-75 Footwell pod (1987-95 one req) - $36.84 / ($37.06) / [$50.19]

AC problem
So no matter what I set my controls on I always get cold air even out the side vents. I checked all the lines and the doors move just wondering if it is a vacuum problem or a push button problem.

I have checked coolant flow and it is good also checked the mono valve and the pump all good so where are the sensors that would be bad to turn the ac on even with the econ button pushed or does that mean the push button control is bad.

The pushbutton unit (and KLIMA relay) engage the AC compressor. Are you certain the AC compressor is running with "EC" selected? The cabin air temp sensor is up in the roof next to the sunroof switch. If you get NO hot air, that still doesn't necessarily mean the AC is running... you can run the AC to dehumidify the warm air with the heater on.

Yeah as soon as I turn the econ button on I hear the compressor turn and feel it in the engine. It just started doing this a couple of weeks ago it is cold real cold air coming out of the outside vents.

OK, so what setting do you use to make the AC compressor to turn off?

So far none of the setting turn of the ac so I am stumped with this I think it might be the push button.

If your 95 is anything like the earlier models, there's a low pressure switch attached to the AC drier by the left headlight. The low pressure switch has two spade contacts directly on it as opposed to the high pressure switch with two connectors on pigtails. Disconnect either wire at the low pressure switch and see if the compressor disengages. If so, there is a rogue signal from the PBU. If not, there's a problem with the compressor controller.
Which begs the question - has it always been this way? Did you have the AC system serviced before this happened? Sixto 87 300D |

I did not have my ac serviced this summer just tried to fix my vent issue and cleaned up vacuum leaks. I thought the econ button uses no ac to run better fuel economy.

You are correct. In the "EC" mode, the AC compressor should be off. It should also shut off when you press the "O" button on the far right.

It shuts off when the o button is pressed but any other setting it is on. GSXR I am coming out to firebird Sat. afternoon to meet up with you maybe I could show you what is going on.

It will be a busy day for me, as I'll be running in 2 separate classes (which I don't normally do). If you just enter as a spectator, they won't let you bring your car into the pit area. I may not be able to go check it out until after I'm eliminated in the races. See you up there!
