Replace UCA and Sway bar bushing--engine out.
If the engine is out of the car, does it affect this project at all? how best to do this?
I want to replace the UCA's and the bushings on the firewall for the sway bar. It is best to only replace the sway bar bushings now? Do you do that with the tires on the ground or raised off the ground? It sounds like you need the weight of the engine to replace the UCA's to position it properly before torqueing. Is that correct? If so, I should only replace the firewall sway bar bushings now and wait to do the ones at the UCA when I replace it?

Personally, I don't think it matters with the upper control arm what position to torque it down. The suspension will settle after driving it. But if you are one who thinks it may, you can still change the UCA out, torque down the balljoint end and leave the wheel well side snug. Then when your engine is in, you can torque it down.
As far as swaybar bushings are concerned, replace it now. You have a wagon right? If not, than it's a good time to change to a 25mm swaybar if you want a bit more cornering performance. .

Yep, it's a wagon. Thanks, I was just wondering if the job was made more difficult, or what. I hate surprises like a like something whacking up through something else, or worse yet me.
Pull the tires?
