Please Help 1982 240D

I was frustrated as a failed to take of my diesel primer pump, reaching from many angles until I heard a snap. I breaking of something that appears to be vacuum related. It connects to a hose that leads to the brake booster. Can anyone Identify the part.

Its a combination check valve and T. It probably has a part number on it.

It is the vacuum line. If you do not want to buy a new one, it can be repaired. Drill it out and epoxy a short stub vacuum tubing (a little over 1/2" long). Next time, remove whatever maybe in the way that can break.

I guess you could JB Weld it back together etc...

The old plastic nipple get brittle with heat and a lot of years.
This is one area you need to be careful to not use as a arm rest.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

Common problem, I think. As others have already suggested, epoxy and a piece of vacuum tubing will work, at least until you can get a replacement. The prices for replacements seem to have come down in the past few years.
