OM606 glow plug socket part number needed

Hi everyone.

I am having difficulty locating a part number.

I'm needing the black plastic terminal 'enclosure' part number but would also like the pin terminal (silver pin terminal to solder wire to) part number if available.

Whilst replacing all six glow plugs over the weekend, one of mine crumbled (cylinder 6) into pieces when I touched it.

Can anyone help?

The diagrams I found so far show a picture of the various parts but nothing looks the same as the ones usually seen on the glow plug wiring harness. Please see photo I found on the net.

I don't know what is available but Electrical Shrink Tubing would insulate it.

It could be that Mercedes expects you to purchase a whole wire assembly.

I've got it running like this but the glow plug has a groove cut into the end of the terminal so a clip from the cables plug can 'lock it in'.

As I can slide the harness plug on and off with my fingers, I'm worried it will vibrate/shake off. It's number six which means inlet manifold off to get to it.

The original terminal clip is no good?

I did a google image search = "1995 Mercedes E300D glow plug wires" and found this thread.

If the below clips are the ones I did not know what they looked like.

Is a trip to the Junk Yard out of the question?

The connector is separately available.

Hat tip to Stretch who found this for Jermy5848 in another thread

I think you need callout 265 (housing) and maybe 270 if the actual terminal is bad.

Diesel 911, thanks for that. Unfortunately Junk Yards don't exist here in Sydney anymore. I think they're the victim of high real estate prices.

My original crumbled in my hands as soon as I touched it. It's the rear number 6 cylinder and possibly has a lot of heat trapped in and around it.

Hi Jay_bob, thanks for that link. I've been chatting with Jeremy via messaging (always very helpful) and he directed me to this link.

These are the clips for the later W210 bodies but as Jeremy pointed out, the glow plugs are almost identical just without the slot for the 'C' clip.

I'll order one of these later clips/connectors.

Thanks everyone.
