Alloy : Rubber corrosion - Anyone know of an assembly paste?
G'day Folks,
I've got a bit of powdery corrosion that's happening under some of the rubber hoses on my W201's cooling system. It isn't bad (as all) but I'd like to beat that little bugger down before it becomes a problem. Assembly pastes such as Duralac are commonly used on aluminium (alloy) to steel connections. This stuff is well known in aircraft industry and also in the maritime world - but it doesn't seem to be suitable for anything that comes in contact with ethanol (coolant) and I'm not sure if it is suitable on plastics / rubber... ...so I'm looking for a product that is good for quite high temperatures - doesn't mind water / coolant / anti-freeze and will stop corrosion on aluminium alloys encased in rubber. Anyone ever heard of such a beast?
