Problem With Rod By Accelerator Pivot Mount

Hi All,

I just did a valve adjustment on my 1984 300D. After putting everything back together, the car seems much happier, however it looks like I can extend the rod with the accelerator pivot mount much further than before and there is a piece of rubber that is split.

I have tried pulling it out and pushing it in and when driving around the block it does not seem to make a difference or cause a problem. I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this or if it is a real problem. I'm pretty sure I put everything together right.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Dkr.
