Turbo Rebuidl Shop Reviews/Recommendations?

There are a few shops I've found online that will rebuild the Garret T3 (nice common turbo fortunately) and they seem to all charge about the same price.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these companies

Turbo Rebuilding Services - XSBoost Turbochargers

I have yet to call them all and see if they all offer a 360 degree bearing instead of the 270 degree which I've read is better for long term durability. Or ask about waste gate rebuilds.

Has anyone had any experience with these shops (or another shop)?

ALSO,
Any way to stop the wastegate from pouring oil out, it is quite frustrating, can they be rebuilt/replaced, or do I need to find a good used Watergate?

Thank you!

The trick is to keep oil out of the wastegate. Should resolve with new turbo seals. Otherwise try an oil trap along the boost signal line if it doesn't markedly reduce the boost signal.

There's a lot of DIY's on the internet on here outside of the forum (There may be one on here as well, haven't seen it though). Not difficult and a shop will charge an arm and a leg. My turbo was using a lot of oil on my 98 and without prior knowledge, just found a guide on line, followed procedure and did it myself with the tools in my garage on my kitchen table. Car runs like a sewing machine with no oil usage.

Midwest turbo is who sent me my rebuild kit that worked perfectly. If you do, they're a good company to do it.

OT - that simile is dated. How does a sewing machine run?

It may be a dated simile, but I've used it for years.

I've also never dug too deep into the thought of how a sewing machine runs.

I've seen nothing but good things about these guys, either for a rebuild or a kit to do it yourself:

In my humble opinion if you can get it off, you can rebuild it. I have rebuilt two and they both work great. No special tools required just buy a good rebuild kit. I purchased mine from a reputable Mercedes source.

I decided that I'd shop out Turbo work as I don't have a way to properly inspect the impellers nor can I spin balance it once assembled (an important part of a quality turbo rebuild). Most of the time it would probably be fine but I don't want to deal with the one in a hundred set of problems.

Anyhow, I'm using Tim's Turbos in Virginia and Tim has done me REALLY well. In fact, my big turbo for Mutt the Race Truck is on the way as I type - and HX35 turbine and HX40 Holset compressor making it a hybrid. Vroom Vroom!

Anyhow, Tim's your man and this is what he does for a living - no backyard fiddler here.

I used Cheetah Turbo, because I find it's an advantage sometimes to deal with someone local. They did a good job.
