Met a high mileage CDI at the pump

Just was leaving work and filling up at the shell down the street when another guy pulled up next to me with a e320 cdi. We were talking about the cars and I told him how many miles are on my e300. His w211 e320 cdi had a whopping 460k on it. Was a traveling representative for a business. The car was really clean in a pewter silver with the normal amount of wear on the driver seat for a car that sees so many miles. His motor was original with the exception of the turbo, 3 sets of injectors and one trans replacement.

They just don't build them new Benzes like that anymore! That's some good news for you cdi owners too..

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

I think we will have to wait and see. I talked with one of the tech's who wants my w124. He told me he thinks they're junk (past the last inline 6 diesel cdi). I agree. Too much emissions junk ruining the engine. Not to mention that in-depth thread about oils and intervals and the cdi and how meticulous it has to be pampered and all it's issues. I doubt I'd own one. I like to drive my car without worry. I do that with every car in my fleet.
