May not need it. I know it isn't needed in my 1985 300D and recall also in my 1984. That pickup just runs to a "diagnostic port" that dealers could connect to. Earlier cars had a "tach amp" plugged onto that port to make the dash tach work. My cars use a tach pickup on the tranny bell-housing.

It is the pick up / sensor holder for the tachometer.

If you are a handy chap you could make one.

If it is visible on the front of my engine I could send you some dimensions. If I remember correctly when I was looking for this part about ten years ago the part was NLA - but I'll have a look for you and post back.

Onderdelen nummers / part nummer zoeken zonder EPC is erg lastig geworden ik zal later vandaag nog een keer proberen.

That's as far as I got

Have you tried posting a "wanted" ad in the parts for sale subforum? You'll probably find one quick. There are several people on this forum that seem to only read that part of the site.

Have you tried the MB dealer here in Holland?

Have you been in touch with Marcel Kappen?

https://mercedes-classic-parts.com/

Jan van Dijk?

Mercedes oldtimer - Autosloperij Jan van Dijk Someren

Alberts?

https://www.albertsoldtimerservice.nl/

There are several other people on Marktplaats that break Mercedes vehicles.
