Injection pump timing on MB 190D 2.5 1986
Hello all MB lovers
I gave the injection pump on my 190D 2.5 for copmlete teardown and replacement with new componets and soon i have to put it back onto the engine. My question is what is the procedure to properly time it with the crankshaft and camshaft (they both have marks but the pump shaft and pulley doesnt). Also, i heard that the pump should be tilted accordingly (measured in degrees) to adsjust the injection timing (fast or slow). I would like to know what is the number of degrees for that particular model. If anyone knows what im talking about please help me!! once again the car is 1986 190D 2.5 bosch injection 5 cylinder diesel (NO TURBO) Modifications : Ractive DTM free flow exaust K&N high performance filter Modified Headlights and corner lights (got em from europe) and 2000w of panel bending sound |

I would suggest reviewing the procedure in the manual if you can.
The way to do it in a 240/300D it is as follows. Put the crankshaft mark at the proper timing "advanced", line up the marks on the injector pump spline and housing and bolt up the injector.
