I had that problem once and it wasn't hard to fix. On my 220D the shaft that has the number wheels on it slipped out of its mounting. A little epoxy kept the shaft where it belonged and it has worked ever since. P E H

The cluster just slides out toward steering wheel. You have to unscrew the oil line (DO NOT RUN ENGINE) and there is an electrical cable that you pull out of a socket.
I can't remember how the speedometer unit comes out of the cluster (ten years ago that I did it) but it should be obvious. If you have any burned out bulbs, now is the time to replace them. P E H |

Its a rainy evening job because it should take only a couple of hours unless you wait for the epoxy to cure.

Mario,
Maybe I wasn't specific enough: the oil line is unscrewed from the oil gage that is mounted in the instrument cluster and the electrical connector socket that the cable is plugged into is mounted on the back of the instrument cluster. I think you will understand once you look at the back of the instrument cluster. I forgot one other thing: The speedometer cable also must be removed. Just unscrew the ring holding it the the speedometer head. P E H |

Mario;
When you unscrew the oil line fitting, be sure to use two wrenches---one to hold the hex fitting on the oil gauge and the other to turn the hex fitting on the oil line. Otherwise you can make a real mess of your oil gauge.
