Motorhead or anyone,
can you describe this "blow-by" some more? I've heard the term a lot here but never understood what it meant. Thanks!

Diesel Power, Well, I was overstating it a little for dramatic effect... but since I bought the car from you and you had told me about the excessive oil use which had survived an engine rebuild by the PO... I know you know I am not stretching the truth by much... I have not had a chance to pull it apart and try to determine what is happening... I would just replace the valve stem seals except for that really low compression value on one cylinder.... however, if I feed it oil along with the gas it still runs great....

Blowby is air or combustion gas leakage past the piston rings. It is caused by worn rings and cylinder walls. It usually is a sympton of high mileage engines.
