Angry Need HELP, Transmission, Torque Converter.

Woke up and went out side to start the car and notice tranny fluid on the ground, but still went to start the engine. After I did I went and looked under the car, fluid was pouring out where the torque converter is. Then I shut the car off and fluid came out at small drops at a time. Someone said it might be from the front seal, but it pours out like it's from the converter. I'm 17 have a job at BestBuy and go to school, so I really need this car to work. I know a friend who's dad has a Mech. Shop, and trying to get a hold of him to get it fixed. What would you think the price might be or if you have any solutions.

P.S. I got this car for free, this is really the only thing that has went wrong. Also the only problem with the transmission before was some vaccum leaks. Another thing, last night when I was almost to my house I heard a weird Whinning which sounded like it was in the car, not sure if that was the torque converter or what.
