It finally arrived!

Well my car finally arrived today. Actually it has been in Honolulu for over two weeks, but the shipping company has been so backed up that it was not ready for me to pick up untill this morning. Took my better half and our son for a quick drive and it performed well. A little slow off the line, remember this is my first one, but on the highway what a pleasure. Very slight smoke under full throttle, shifted very nicely. I think Enrique tuned it up very nicely. A slight shimmying at about 80 mph that I attribute to the tires. I just got finished with a pretty thourough wash/clean/wax and she looks great. The wheels are pretty beat up.

Problems:

Water in trunk----fixed----cleared drain plugs

Slow shut off-----around 5 seconds---temp. fixed (new vaccum connector----I still have a tee plugged line that does something, but the locks and shut off now work.)

Right rear window does not work----(weird, but works with the window lock button depressed)

Antenna does not fully retract.------I broke it messing with it

After market kenwood stereo volume down button not working.---Fixed----took screws out, loosened everything and cleaned, put screws back.)

ACC really wacky!----Seems to be only defrost no matter what setting. Heck, I don't even know what all the buttons are for on that thing yet.
So a few things to keep me busy for a while. Time to hit the archives...Aloha

hehe, I still have the wagon, I just want to have one with the W123 body. I still think thats the body style to have, but I didnt have to much of a choice. Actually it is going to the shop since it has developed a sag on the rear passenger side, and if you had a chance to look at my other posts, there is a weird noise coming from the rear end, and I thought I better have a look at it. BTW what color is your baby?

RE: Defrost on all settings. Check for a blown fuse, #14 I think. ACC system uses two fuses as I recall and when the one blows, the car goes into fail-safe mode which is defrost. Mine used to blow the fuse every time I floored it. Turned out to be the wire for the transmission kick down solenoid. Wire had worn through and shorted under the trany support.
Water in trunk means leak up high. my back window leaks. Gotta get the glass shop to pop the windeo and redo the seal. And probably fix some rust.
Slow shut off can be a weak vacumm pump or a leak in the vacumm system somewhere. I would probably isolate the locking system and see if it shuts off ok. sounds like a leak in lock system line. probably at the door with the problem.
