Two questions re 115
Hello,
Numero Uno: How tight do you torque the sub frame mounts on this car? I watched my mechanic change them and he cranked those new ones down good. It sucked down that rubber till it was about as compressed as the old mounts. The car rode like it was on a pillow for the first day but then after that the ride hardened up some and didn't seem much different than the old mounts. The other: Is it possible to change the tensioner rail with the head in place? We didn't replace it with the new chain and there were some grooves on the surface. The rail has 280,000 miles on it so what good does it do with a new chain if the rail will fail? I can't imagine it is possible to change those two short rails way down inside but I guess it's not such a big deal cause the chain really doesn't ride against those like it does the tensioner rail. Thanks

No one wants to answer me so I'm going to bump this back up to the top.

Yes, you can replace the tensioner rail with the head in place. The front cover doesn't even have to come off. The vibration damper and crank pulleys have to come off.
