Red face light bulbs

Where can I find rare light bulbs for my 83 300sd. I'm looking specifically for a 7528 bulb preferably xenon or ultrawhite for my turn signal. thanks

I think that you can use 1157's in place of the 7528 bulbs and 1156 in place of the 7506 bulbs. I still recommend sticking with the original stuff though.

Stick with the German wattage bulbs or you will melt the plastic and have a nasty mess to clean up. You can use LED bulbs however, and I believe that they are brighter than the German wattage bulbs and they don't get that hot at all...

LED bulbs will NOT work well in Mercedes light housings. The LED's don't project light to the reflectors properly during the day, and you can BARELY see the things. I bought some because I thought they would be brighter, and was sorely dissapointed. Stay away from those!

Any halogen replacement bulb that produces a blue light does so because the bulb has a blue tint applied to it. As soon as any tint is applied to the bulb, light output is reduced. If you have upgraded your headlights with a halogen kit such as the one offered by Hella, then you can install Sylvania bulbs. Just be sure the bulbs aren't tinted, or you might as well be putting blue sunglasses on your headlights.

Guys, the thread started out asking about turn signal bulbs, not headlight bulbs. But yes, any of the blue *headlight* bulbs are for looks only, not increased light output. The best H4 bulbs you can get are the "Plus 50" types, either Philips Vision Plus or Osram SilverStar (NOTE that the "SilverStars" sold in North America are not +50's, they are different - stupid of them to use the same name in different countries for different products!) These +50 bulbs must be purchased from vendors in Europe like www.powerbulbs.com or from one of the very rare US vendors who imports them like Dan Stern (http://lighting.mbz.org or email: dan@mbz.org). Here's some more reading:

Where are you finding the LED bulbs? It sounds like they shouldn't be used on the Benz, but I wonder if I could make use of something like that on my truck...?

I got a set on eBay, and the seller claimed they were SUPER BRIGHT or something like that. The pictures were a bit deceiving but I didn't think that in reality they'd be that far off. Horrible, horrible, even though the bulbs was made up of 12 or so individual LED's. I tried them on my mother's Honda Civic and saw equal results.

The LED 1157 bulbs will work to replace 7528's, likewise with the 1156's and 7506's.

In theory, if you use right LED bulbs, it should be brighter than the stock wattage bulbs... I think Alon or one of the other guys in So. Cal has had luck with LED bulbs...

I have seen LED's that are SUPER BRIGHT, so someone screwed you over... Most of the LED bulbs are made up of several LED's. LED technology is growing by leaps and bounds, and in a few years we might be even lighting our homes with LED bulbs and Fiber Optics...

gsxr, the Osram silverstars are great, I use them along with the Osram H3 all seasons. Shipping takes about a week from the UK, paid $57 with shipping for all 4 bulbs. I dont think you can do better for the money.

123c, at least I sold them on eBay again, but fortunately the buyers were pleased! Anyway, I really don't know what the deal is with those LED bulbs. I got amber ones, but maybe the white or red ones are brighter?

LED's will respond much quicker, and are supposed to last much longer...

A while ago, I replaced the instrument cluster lights with 194-style Ultra White LED's. Much to my dissapointment, the cluster did not light up as well as with new OEM bulbs. Argh!
