Someone broke my window, is it hard to fix? (pics)
Hi,
Sometime last night in a relatively nice part of Park Slope, Brooklyn, someone broke the rear quarter window on my 300D and stole my stereo. Bastard. I'm pretty pi$$ed but I'm glad that the thief did minimal damage. There are no scratches on the paint, no tears on the seats, no stains, no damage to the console wood, and it looks like they cut the wires (instead of just pulling until they gave). They even locked the doors when they were finished. My question now is, how much will it cost (how long will it take my mechanic), or how hard is it to replace the glass myself? I found used glass and a new seal for $28 dollars (no tax, no shipping). It was a relatively new stereo that played MP3's. I'm mad. Alex

Remove door panel, unbolt rear window channel, and remove the phillips screw up at the top. I think you will need to lower the rear window after you unbolt the channel, don't remember.
Glass (or what is left of it) will slide out with it's frame. Watch for little plastic pads that look like clips, they need to go back in the same place. Insert new glass, re-install window channel, and replace door panel. Peter

Peter pretty much summed it up
you will need the window down. The 1/4 window pulls out toward the front of the car. You can find used ones at your local pull a parts place.
