nobody wants to work on the steering box

Hello all, My 300d pulls to the right & I must turn the wheel about 20 degrees to the left (or about 11 'o clock) to go forward. Talked to 2
indies today and they don't want to touch the steering box. Also, the steering does have some play in it also. 156K on the vehicle. Any suggestions? thanks all

Get a new steering box if you want no play, make sure the play isn't from the idler arm or tie rods ect.

Can't see how a worn out steering box would cause a pull. Play yes but not a constant pull. Have your alignment checked.

Many indies don't want to get very involved with the "big three".
Rebuilding calipers, steering related work, and safety restraint system components. It's the stuff law suits are made of when a mistake happens.

That is a lot of play.
For steering play:
Check the two rag joints, one by the gearbox and one below the dash.
use a strong flashlight and have someone turn the wheel back and forth, not more than 90 degrees, with engine off.
If either one shows visible flex or cracking, replace both.

For the pull:
You have one or more bad part.
Take it to the stealership for alignment, the inspection will spot bad parts and may save your life.
